Gossip from the shared farmhouse
Dear E. from Belgium,
we miss you too. Thank you for the Belgian Chocolate. J. shared them. Delicious!
Here comes the gossip from the main house:
Our former sales representative J. has a new job and is now in the fast track, but it is still a step back compared to her old job.
Our sharp physicist C. moved to the annexe because of the noise (and maybe the dirty kitchen, too?) I miss the nice smell of all the dishes.
Our physicist D. is still there and escapes whenever a party is announced. We never heard anything from the Portugese Scientologist R. who lived there before D.
Your room was occupied by engineer N. and is now occupied by hairdresser W. from the Netherlands, but she moves out next month. So there is hope I have to learn another name next time.
A.'s en suite room was occupied by pysicist J. and his fiancee L. from South Africa (they are married now!) and then by M. from Denmark (who is now applying for jobs but still tries to run his own business in selling remote controlled cars) and is now rent by H. (english teacher at the European school) and I. (historian) from Germany (Juchu!) BTW: A. is back and lives in Oxford with her boy-friend, still spending much time with her "friend".
N. (the horse loving sales repr.) moved to her in-laws and M. from Denmark into her room.
S. (a security guy) from India/Africa/UK moved in yesterday into C.'s old room. I feel much safer now. And he treated us with beer and chips and sweets.
D. (our other teacher) is still split up from D. (who was not seen any more) and finally stopped suffering.
All rooms get more and more expensive every time new tenants come to visit. What a neverending story.

So, liebe des Englischen nicht Mächtige.
Das war der Versuch, alle Mitbewohnenden der letzten Monate aufzuzählen und dabei nicht zu vergessen, aus wievielen verschiedenen Ländern und sozialen Schichten sie kommen. Es ist also Einiges an und in Bewegung in diesem schönen alten Farmhaus. Ich zähle 17 Personen und 7 Nationen, mich eingerechnet.
Alle Angaben ohne Gewähr. Und vielleicht liest es E. ja doch noch. Das ist ja nur notwendig, weil ich ein chronischer Facebook-Muffel bin.

J. hat übrigens noch einen Zweitjob neuerdings, weil sie ihre Kredite sonst nicht bezahlen kann. Neben dem sales bedient sie noch im Pub zum sunday lunch für ein Taschengeld. Und für den Preis des Zimmers hier würde sie in Vorpommern ne Wohnung kriegen. (Aber eher keinen Job.) Poor J!

Also wir bezahlen hier alle so um die 500 Pfund. Manche mehr, manche weniger. Das geht nach Größe und auch nach Anzahl der Personen. Ein Päärchen zahlt im gleichen Zimmer mehr als eine einzelne Person. Und bei Neuvermietung werden die Zimmer meist noch ein wenig teurer. A. würde gern nächstes Jahr in mein Zimmer ziehen, aber kann es sich nicht leisten (can't afford 600quid) . Poor A. Immerhin ist der Pool mit drin und die Heizung und das WIFI und die wöchentliche Reinigung der Gemeinschaftsräume.
